Uluwatu is situated in the Southern area of the beautiful island of Bali in the Bukit peninsula. The dreamy coastline is home to world class surf breaks as well as some of the worlds best sunset views. It is paradise within paradise.
Travelers, party goers, honeymooners, holiday makers and of course surfers are drawn to this magical place. Uluwatu truley offers something for everyone. We recently travelled to the South of the island and stayed amongst the beauty of Uluwatu, one Sunday.
Sit, sun-bake, drink and eat your way down the cliff through the local warungs (restaurants/cafes). Weave the explorer in you to the bottom of the cliff line, where you will find the famous Uluwatu Cave. The steep steps lead you the sandy floor where swimmers frolick, surfers will be paddling in/out, Photoshoots taking place and sometimes the odd hiker in boots can also be found.
Uluwatu is becoming more and more famous for the ‘Single Fin’ sunset sessions. Resting on the top of the cliff, Single Fin offers breath taking views of the Peninsula, epic viewing platforms and all while sipping on some of Bali’s best cocktails.
Get there in the early evening, as you will love it so much more sitting rather than standing as the crowds will grow as the night begins.
‘Sunday sessions’ are where it is at, but don’t get me wrong week nights are also just as dreamy! Surf all day, party into the night, that’s living the dream, right? We were lucky enough to meet up with some friends from home (Australia). Sipping on cold bintangs, which than led into the yummiest cocktails whilst enjoying the amazing sunset and watching the final surfers get their last waves. This dally occuranc, really is a must while in Bali, especially at Uluwatu!
As the day turns into night and the party goers begin to arrive to the beat of the DJ, we cannot wipe the smile off our faces and control our legs from too, bopping along with the chilled tunes. What an awesome day in Paradise.
Thank you for another beautiful day Uluwatu, we will be back.. Very soon!
